Family in the summer

With summer on its last legs, the time to stow away all seasonal items is upon us. By organizing and cleaning your summer gear, you can ensure everything is in good working order come next year. The good news is that a late-summer cleanup doesn’t have to be as intense as spring cleaning. Here are some tips to help start cleaning up:

Wash Your Outdoor Pillows: wash them with warm water and be sparing with the detergent. Then allow them to air-dry. If your pillows have stains, you can spot-treat those with a stain cleaner prior to washing.

Launder Your Beach Towels: pop these beach towels into the washer and choose hot water if the fabric can withstand it. Remember to add a dollop of softener to the load.

Scrub the Grill: to scrub away all the remnants of your summer feasts from your grill, you will need a long-handled wire brush, a wire bottle brush, and some soapy water.

Wipe Down Your Outdoor Furniture: give your outdoor furnishings a thorough cleaning to remove any built-up debris.

Clean Your Gardening Tools: soak your gardening tools in warm, soapy water to get rid of any residue that may have dried and hardened on it and to prevent rusting.

Organize the Garage: Invest in storage bins, open shelves, and pegboards so you can keep items off the floor whenever possible. Then sweep the floor with a large push broom!

If you find yourself thinking it’s time to move into a new home, I am ready to talk about how much home you can afford. Call me anytime!

Reverse mortgage borrowers are required to obtain an eligibility certificate by receiving counseling sessions with a HUD-approved agency. Youngest borrower must be at least 62 years old. Your monthly reverse mortgage advances may affect your eligibility for some other programs. At the conclusion of the term of the reverse mortgage loan contract, some or all of the equity in the property that is the subject of the reverse mortgage no longer belongs to you and you may need to sell or transfer the property to repay the proceeds of the reverse mortgage with interest from your assets. We will charge an origination fee, a mortgage insurance premium, closing costs or servicing fees for the reverse mortgage, all or any of which we will add to the balance of the reverse mortgage loan. The balance of the reverse mortgage loan grows over time and interest will be charged on the outstanding loan balance. You retain title to the property that is the subject of the reverse mortgage until you sell or transfer the property and you are therefore responsible for paying property taxes, insurance, and maintenance and related taxes. Failing to pay these amounts may cause the reverse mortgage loan to become due immediately and may subject the property to a tax lien or other encumbrance or to possible foreclosure. Interest on reverse mortgage is not deductible to your income tax return until you repay all or part of the reverse mortgage loan. This is not an offer to enter into an agreement.
